I was finally happy. It was perfect. I had a real family. They weren't like my human parents. I remember how badly I wanted to be like them. I wanted to grow horns, I wanted to have fur..I wanted to be just like them.
Despite being human and not monster, they treated me like their own. They even brought me gifts, something my parents never did. I was special to them. Not just because I was the hope for the underground..but I was family to them. I was their daughter. Looking back now, I wish I had known how long this would last. Maybe I would've been better prepared for when this happiness..would come to an end.

Welp, I've never written a fanfiction before, but after thumbing through page after page of mediocre Undertale 'fics, I felt compelled to write one. The subject of this tale is Chara's ambiguous backstory. (for the sake of simplicity I'm going to call her a girl) There's so much about her that's left up to the player's imagination. Why did she climb Mt Ebott? What about her parents/family? Why does she want to erase the world? That's what I'm going to interpret. Your name is (y/n) and you have lived on the surface as a royal guard for the science department in the monster areas. Your species is skeleton, there's still a good amount left of the skeleton race but then the monster side of town broke into chaos and war. You were manning your post when you see humans running after innocent monster childeren and their families. You instantly run towards the humans and start attacking them but you quickly get overwhelmed by all of them and the gunshots that you've just barely managed to dodge. You start running to buildings to get out innocent lives from the fires that are now spreading through the town. Your actions lead to hundreds if not thousands of lives saved that night. You were one of the last ones out with the other guards just in front of you. With your magic you manage to hold off humans attacks from the monsters that are heading to the underground that is supposed to be a safe haven if this was to occur. That's when you get hit by a rock in the back of the skull. This book is about a long lost skeleton warrior in the game known as undertale. (Not cannon of course) I'll be using (y/n) as her name so you can choose it to be your own name or a chosen name. All rights are reserved as far as the images I've used and of course undertale the game itself. If I do mess up on something, do not hesitate to tell me. I am all about constructive criticism. Lastly, there is a no hate policy. Long ago, two races ruled over the Earth. Humans and monsters. At least, that's the story we all know. There was another race. Technically, they were monsters. Skeleton monsters to be exact. Humans shunned them because they were monsters. Monsters shunned them because humans had skeletons. In retaliation, the skeletons split into two different races. The Surface Skeletons and the Abyss Skeletons. The Surface Skeletons reaches out to both monsters and humans. However, when the war started, they were some of the first monsters attacked and many were killed when they fought with the other monsters. Only a handful were sealed underground but without the Sun to strengthen their bones, the skeletons suffered until they received anonymous help. Very few survived to this point and slowly, they died out. The Royal Scientist at the time and his wife tried to have children. Each time left them severely weakened. Each child dusted until the wife gave up her life to bring a great skeleton into the world. That child is the last of his kind. The Abyss Skeletons shunned all other monsters and humans, considered them all demons. Their society was alike human society long ago. Divided. They believe they are strong and emotions only weaken. The class system was rigid and they possessed a kill or be killed attitude to all other monsters and humans. They thrived underground and ended up building their society in the Underground's own Abyss. It is a shame that only their leader can reclaim their heir from the corruption caused by those demons. Because of this, monsters were always treated as scum and creatures to be feared, creating a significant prejudice against them. However, one day, the monsters grew tired of this situation, and their king decided to start a war against all humans, thus decreeing the beginning of ruin for their own people. This war lasted a long time, but in the end, the victors were the humans, who, with great magical power derived from the souls of the wizards of the time, sealed the monsters underground. Many years passed after this event. Legends said that any human who fell into that underground would die, but a child decided to go to the place where everything had been sealed. They ended up falling but managed to survive the fall and now seek a way to escape or a reason to stay. Immense credits to Error Sannes, a YouTube channel creating its own AU of StoryFell. Without his narrative, I would have created something much more basic, so to speak. Of course, I will also create my own scenes and specific interactions, but what he has done is already very good and helps me a lot to have a direction.
