Meet Gene, an orphan with a penchant for extremeism and daredevil stunts, who is always seeking the next thrill in life. With aspirations to fly one day, he his enlisted in the private Magicia Academy, the only school in the city of Novus that trains its students in the use of Activation Cards, devices that contain magical power that can be used to cast a spell...but only once. Bound by rules and restrictions, Gene seeks to unlock the limits to the power he thinks exists in the world so that he can truly live.
But until then, he's locked away in classes and forced to be trained in how to be responsible with magic, and apply himself to helping others. Will he ever be given a chance to be a hazard to his own health again?
