so the whole mage and staff hero is finicky. in my eyes mages can also utilize staff's as well as books so in this story a 16 year old nerd who plays videogames but also worships hecate (the goddess of magic) the boy's name is David. 

David is transported when he downloaded and opened a game called tales of Asteria. He is then confronted my 4 other people who appear to be in the same situation.
