People are not defined by the way they live. Instead, they are defined by the way they die. People dream of being crushed by the pressure, in a submarine, under the ocean or of being burnt alive, frozen alive, and experiencing the vacuum of space firsthand, without a space suit. Alice, however, doesn't understand why people value their deaths more than their lives. When she meets Ashe, who's views on life set him apart, he shows her that there's more to life than just death. And together, they find the meaning of life.
