After her parents were killed and her bother kidnapped, Rèya goes to sector Giliad on the Planet Syntheria to live with her uncle - the dying wish of her father. She enjoys the quiet life for a while, reading and learning of the kaz. But she soon learn of a story called Dume. At first she is sure it is fiction, until something happens to prove otherwise.
A few years after her parents murder, the homestead is attached, Rèya's uncle is killed and she is taken as prisoner.
Rèya strives to help the helpers of her family while search for her brother while uncover the secrets of Dume. Was the Planet Quen always uninhabitable? Was it all just a big cover up to hide something even bigger? And the biggest question of all: who is her uncle, really?

I have restarted this book. I wanted to make it easier to read and more enjoyable. I hope to make shorter chapters and update frequently. :) In the beginning Sylar has no name. No one cares. She's just another kid to fall into a system because she was an unwanted mess. A child that doesn't talk? Yea, no one care about that either. A shady group home filled with bullies and secrets? Yea, you guessed NO ONE CARES! To find friends in a place like this is unlikely. This place is built to feed off the fears of kids and their lack of parental role models. No one holds on to dreams for long in a place like this. You get placed here and you are as good as forgotten. Except when a couple shows up looking as out of place as an astronaut in a gold mine or a miner in space whichever one you prefer. This couple comes and shakes things up. Good or Bad has yet to be decided...only someone's bound to get hurt, someone's bound to be broken. The only question is will the wounds heal or fester and kill?Complete
