Madams of Mayhem

"The Erudites headed straight to the Sears Tower, fearing being late. All sixteen-year-olds were to wait in a line for their name to be called and their choosing to start.
Blaire zoned out for most of the choosing ceremony. She only paid attention when a certain name was called.
'Blaire Summers,' Marcus, leader of Abnegation, called. She made eye contact with his dark cold eyes. She picked up the knife and sliced her palm. Closing her eyes, she held her hand over the Dauntless coals. Only when she heard that satisfying sound of sizzling coals did she dare open her eyes.
An uproar of cheers erupted from the Dauntless section, much like they had for every new initiate. Blaire once again let her mind wander until she heard the only other choice she cared about.
'Emma Oakwood,' Marcus called. Blaire watched eagerly as Emma cut her palm. 'Dauntless,' Marcus announced.
Blaire let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. Both girls knew one thing.
They were in this together."

Blaire Summers and Emma Oakwood were Erudite. On the day of their Choosing Ceremony, they switched to Dauntless. But ever since they switched, everything has been different . . . The faction was even more chaotic than they'd expected, but that was partly their fault. Not to mention their new friends. And, oh yeah, trying to save Chicago . . .
