17 year old Emma Thomas just wants to be free, but her mother is very protective of her. Emma is a shy girl because her mom has kept her from the world. She has been picked on for years. Everyone says she is a loser because she never goes anywhere and all she does is study.
Theresa Thomas is Emma's mother. She is very protective of her daughter. She divorced Emma's father when Emma was only 2. She won't let Emma do very much except school because she doesn't want Emma to get caught up in bad things like drugs or drinking, and she doesn't want Emma to get hurt by anyone like she was by her ex husband.
Robert Thomas is Emma's father. He hasn't seen his daughter since she was 4. He has made it his life goal to find Emma and take her away from Theresa. He is constantly in and out of jail. He is a drug addict and a drunk.
18 year old Jackson Hudson is the bad boy at school. He does what ever he wants. He usually cuts class. Everyone is scared of him. He's the school's bully. He always has cuts and bruises for getting into fights. Jackson's girlfriend is Chelsea Gray.
