In a world where the ability to see colors became rare a long time ago, those that can "see" are treated like outcasts. The ability to "see" opens up a whole new world of opportunities, and grants access to a school to help train and prepare them for the real world. Every year on the 21 of April a new group of 14 year old's finds out how they will see the world, and if they will get the honor of stepping into a world different from their own. However, not everyone view it as an honor. Sage comes from a respected family, and has her eyes on a future in government. Karter needs an escape, and this is the perfect opportunity. Laya grew up in this world, but is only begging to truly appreciate it. And Emery is about to graduate from the school that serves as a gateway to the "real world"
(There will be minor romance, but I am aiming for a book for middle grade, so nothing to romancy lol)
There will be LGBTQ+ characters, if you don't support this, please don't read it!

An idea for a book that I had, I've written a few chapters, not sure if it's worth it to write more.
