Okay,in my multiverse heres a small explanation.
Nightmare and dream are half human so they have a human form (joku turned the twins human so i implied that here-)
their mother is tree spirt(a earthy human who died and became one with nature),aka rosemary. and their father is a skeleton,astro. god of balance.
their backstories are the same,the only exception is that my story is based off the grinning kittens version.
they do have an older brother named lucid,but hes fully mortal and isnt a god. so he died during the 500 years the twins were apart (he died of old age)
dream has a obvious crush on killer and nightmare has a crush on cross but its not as obvious (he favors cross more but no one suspects anything)

[NSFW] In this world, we live in a world where everyone's AU has died out, only find out there was a heaven and hell. One per AU. Of course, the 'awares' had this place they could always go to to talk and was considered as the middle. The center, the heart. As well as hang outs, like a place for the Bad Time Trio, etc. Now, they have angels, demons, and the fallen. Fallens are angels who have committed a sin, but not evil enough to become a demon. They are frowned upon. Not considered the same. Sadly, most of them consist of young children. The angels and demons of course would fight. And at the heart of angel society, was Ink. He was the most cutest, pure, and innocent bean you could ever find. Then there was Nightmare. Being able to have him right around his fingers. Every year, if either on the Angel or Devil side, if there isn't another ruler to rule alongside the main one, or 'protector', then there is a specific time you have to find someone. Otherwise, you get kicked off as it is unfair to rule alone. The only reason Ink isn't kicked off is because he has someone ruling with him. Dream & Blue. Of course, Nightmare has only been able to stall by trying to find one, seeing them as not the one, and the counter gets reset. You can't do it forever though. Now, Ink terribly naive for a protector. Of course, he was the heart. He had a place in everyone's heart- With Dream & Blue being the next. Blue being a guard, and Dream being his 'right-hand man.' Most of the time being the one helping and guiding Ink. They soon find him to be missing, captured by the demons. Panic would be spread all over the place if they were to find out Ink was missing. With this, and a limited time to work with, considering if you were to officially become a ruler of somewhere, your heart has to actually want to leave if you were to leave. Would Dream and Blue be able to save Ink? Or would Ink become the next Queen? The next queen of the Demons? Join us on this journey to find out.Kumpleto

TWs!!! because I can't seem to tag them for some reason! abuse, mental health issues, torture, mental break downs, manipulation, all that fun stuff. This is NOT a lighthearted story! Nightmare had been alone in his head for the longest time. For 500 years he was able to gain more power, a castle, a gang, and a reputation of one of the most dangerous beings in the multiverse. But when Dream had broken out of stone, someone else made themselves known, someone who should have been dead. OR Corrupted Nightmare is a parasite and Passive Nightmare refuses to die. He does not appreciate the identity theft. Updates when I finish chapters, no more waits. I'll just post them as I finish them. Cross-posted on AO3!
Break the cycle
The Multiverse for a long time has been an endless loop. Both inside the AUs and in itself. Error and Ink making a truce then breaking it in any possible way. The Dreamtale twins fight until Nightmare dies and Dream sacrifices his soul to plant a new tree of Feelings recreating a cycle. But, among everyone, there is one person who remembers each loop that took place and after a few centuries of trying to figure out what to do, he finally got it. He will break those endless cycles and try to finally give the Multiverse some peace. This is the story of that attempt. However, Dream will not help them for free; he locks eyes with Cross, and decides he wants him in exchange for the war victory. It's an easy decision, is it not? There's just one problem with this arrangement: Cross is a spy, sent by Nightmare himself. And Nightmare is absolutely unforgiving of traitors. But he cannot offend Dream, for he too is an Immortal.
