Out of work. Out of insurance. Out of options. All Stephen Barker wants is to provide a better life for his wife and child, and his only answer is to become a star in the last remaining sport in America, the Gladiatorial Combat League. But while Stephen's intentions are noble, he has no idea that the GCL is becoming more and more corrupt behind the scenes.

The current World Champion, Kyle Flyte, is forced to deal with constant rule changes proposed by the head booker Vornakai, including the use of weapons in the ring. But Vornakai is keeping his latest plan to usurp the championship a secret from everyone. If it works, it will turn an ordinary man into a weapon to tear through the GCL ranks. All he needs is a test subject.

Someone like Stephen.

(Completed) Bryan Phillips didn't have an easy life. When his parents became addicted to drugs that meant doing what it took to survive. He never imagined becoming a parent at nineteen. Hell, he never imagined becoming anything due to the fact of things he had to do. Blacking out when he lost his virginity is not even the icing on the cake. Bryan Phillips was a complete mess, that is until he heard those two words most teenage boys don't want to hear, "I'm pregnant." His life immediately changed and he was working towards doing better until his child's life was threatened. It's all thanks to his good for nothing parents that he's in the predicament he is in now. That's why he is standing near the underground fighting ring ready to get his ass handed to him. Somehow he lands a punch on the notorious Grayson Miller, who is feared by most in the unground fighting ring. "I'm so dead Benny, what the fuck was I thinking?" Bryan whispers to his best friend. "Your puny ass will be dead within a week here." Grayson glares at the man. But is surprisingly impressed by the punch Bryan delivered to him. "I don't have a choice, I rather it be me than my daughter." He has no idea why he just told this stranger that. Or why he gets a sense of familiarity around this intimidating man. But no matter what he won't back down. For some strange reason Grayson wants to help him, but will not let Bryan know it. "Your funeral, meet me here tomorrow at ten am and I will show you how to properly fight." Grayson also has ulterior motives to helping Bryan out. Little did they both know that they shared a history that will soon come to light once training begins. How they will deal with that history is anyone's guess. Copyright © 2022 All rights reserved. After getting through an abusive relationship and fleeing to another city Aria is ready to return home years later. Everything has changed, including her relationship with her best friend. There's a constant magnetic pull between them and Aria feels their intense chemistry with every touch and look Asher steals from her.
