Kagamine Rin et Hatsune Miku sont deux personnes que tout oppose. L'une d'apparence antipathique, complètement en froid avec son (très détestable) frère, Len, et sans aucune détermination, l'autre qui camoufle sa souffranche derrière un sourrire constant mais aussi d'une excentricité qui a quelque chose de nihiliste. Alors que Rin arrive dans la prestigieuse Académie Noizu, elle sera plus ou moins forcée à rejoindre le club de Musique dont la présidente est ... Miku.

Mais la vie ne semble faire de cadeau à aucune d'elles, et leurs problèmes qui malheureusement sont presque anodins risquent de prendre le dessus sur leur amitié naissante... Mais peut-on encore parler d'Amitié ? Et si des sentiments plus profonds, et des problèmes plus graves encore venaient se mêler à tout ça ?
