A dystopian science-fiction thriller. 

The Americo-Chinese War of the 21st Century was a conflict on an unprecedented scale - a conflict in which the principal aggressors reduced their respective countries to ashes. In the aftermath, the Pan-Pacific Alliance emerged, swiftly becoming a pre-eminent superpower. The Oligarchy known as the Archons deployed new era technologies to defend and to bring peace and order to the Pacific region.

As a result of a technology known as Synthesis, the Functionary known as Will Astor has leased the use of his body to his government. His physical capabilities are used for lethal enforcement operations at very low risk to his government employers. Ostracised for his choice by those around him, Will's only compensation is compensation itself. 

But the anonymous Archon who controls Will's body with devastating effect is about to reveal his identity, sending Will into a deadly collision with the violent insurgency that threatens the Pan-Pacific Alliance.
