He was hiding something from me, but I couldn't tell what it was. "I don't want to hang up until you feel sleepy or want to rest. For as long as I've known you Mayuri, I know you hate being alone, especially if you're in the hospital. So, I made a promise to myself, that as long as you're awake, I'll stay awake with you, so you don't ever have to feel like you're all alone." ---------- What would it be like to be normal? What would it be like to not be scared to fall asleep at night and not be afraid to wake up? She has always wondered what it would be like to be someone else who wasn't in her shoes. Mayuri Crest has unfortunately developed narcolepsy at a young age and ever since then, her life has always been under constant surveillance, where people always pity her, but never really asked her about who she is. Her last year in high school though, she plans to make sure that she doesn't forget any of it. Mayuri plans to make her last year the best year she's ever had and finally, after the long, gruelling pain of alienated because of her conditions, both her medical and school wise, she would experience what it would be like to be like everyone else. ------- NOTE: There are possible trigger warnings in this novel e.g. suicidal thoughts. Over the Wall: A Collection of Short Stories (NaNoWriMo 2014)
This year for NaNoWriMo, I am writing a short story anthology. It will feature thirty or so short stories (my hope is to write one per day to fulfill my 1,667 per day word requirement) about varying things. Each morning, I will randomly select a number between one and thirty and I will look at the corresponding list of first lines I will have. I will take that line and write a short story using it and then the next day I will do the process over again (some stories might relate to each other, some might not). Anyway I will edit the story for that day and post it here. It may not be posted exactly on the corresponding day, but in the end there will be thirty short stories. P.S. Although these are somewhat edited they are still rough drafts so please treat them as such.Complete

It was the drunk diver who started it. With one swerve killed both my parents and sent me and my brother into some foster place. Then it was that fever. They did nothing. They couldn't do anything, it was to late, my brother was gone. Now I wander the streets of Japan with a new look, new name, new title, and a new life. Not a pretty one, and definitely not a clean one, but it's all I got. With my only two friends at my side and my scythes in my hands I'm fine. Well I was, until I met a boy who changed everything. I hate him. He made me rethink my whole life. The things I do and why I do them. Because of him my whole life was turned upside down and now I don't know where to go or where I even am. Because of this boy, wounds reopen. Truths revile, and lies open up from my past to haunt my every step. I hate that boy, but...at the same time I don't. Can I really? I mean, can a person like me, who's done such wrong and has felt such pain really, I mean really...fall in love? ____________________________________________________________________________ Maria Case lives an awful life. Her only friends are two shinigamis. One who is her's and another who as been banished from her home. With shinigami eyes and a death note Maria is equipped to end her parents, but they die before she can do it. After losing her little brother to disease Maria decides she's done with life in America. She then hops the next flight to Tokyo Japan where she, Ciro, and Kenyo set up a new life. At first, everything is fine, but when the now Luna meets some weird detectives while working on an even weirder case she starts to rethink everything. Luna is forced to weigh experience and love, and moral and duty. Also, when her past and all her locks and chains begin to loosen how will Luna react, and more importantly, how will the world react?Complete

I'm Not A Tsundere!
(THIS STORY IS REALLY BAD NGL) Kasumi Mizu, a hot headed, stubborn but overall friendly girl. Her first day back at high school begins with a shock when she bumps into the man of her dreams on the way to school. The problem is, she's afraid that he doesn't like her back as she is... A tsundere. Btw I could not write when I wrote this. And by that I mean: the story/relationship of Kasumi and Shiro is far too quick, moments are pretty cringey as well as a few other things which is why I'm planning to rewrite it. If you've not read it, I'm not saying you can't read it, but if you want something better I suggest my story Smile (or better yet, my story "Cursed" that one's a real doozie (or even "Red" if you actually want some romance bc the protag of cursed is AroAce)) or one of the stories written by my wonderful, fellow admin, Nimbus. Hi so this was supposed to be a really short story, like 10-15 chapters short, but I ended up elongating it. So just a heads up this book moves reaaaalllly fast. Contains implied NSFW things, nothing detailed. Also contains bullying/harassment, abuse and deals with emotional trauma. "I have made so many subtle changes in my everyday routine, that they're hardly noticeable anymore. However, none of it mattered. The most cruel people are the people who are the most different from you. I thought I already had it hard, I thought high school couldn't get any worse.
