Toothless was never shot down on that faithful night... The village is still plagued by the raids. Hiccup is still Gobber's apprentice. Still hounded for his unethical viking practises, he lives disowned and shamed by his village. His father, the chief, barely speaks to him anymore. He now lives at the forge with durability and sarcasm as strong as the metal he forges.
Will that make him worth being proud by his father ? Your interest in his adventure only shows how strong of an impact he can make.
Note : For context about one specific character which is pivotal to the actual tale, you should read " The Peacemaker ".

Many call him 'Night Rider', 'Dragon Tamer', and 'Mysterious Rider'. Many doubted that this hero could be their traitorous ex heir to the Berkian leadership. After all, he was described as having a prosthetic leg, very tall, confident, and extremely buffed, while Hiccup was the opposite of all these descriptions. But... why then, has this new hero never visited Berk? And what will happen when he finally dose? Feel free to comment! I will also edit things I want everything to be amazing. Night Rider - A httyd and Hiccstrid book. -Astrid's pov- 8 years. That's how long it has been. 8 lonely, cold, devastating years of my life that I will never get back. Every night I dream the same dream - every night the same day returns to haunt me over and over. That day dramatically changed my life for the worst. Why did that day happen? Everyone learnt to leave me in peace in the morning. Everyone knew my deepest, darkest secret that changed people's opinions of me forever. Everyone knew my arch enemy, but only 2 people know why he is my arch enemy. My friends still talk to me, just not in the same way as they used to - it's almost as if they are scared of me, or don't want to be associated with me. One day I want this to change. One day I want my life to turn around. One day I will truely be me again. One day I will be happy. One day I will be free. I cannot see that day in the forseeable future, but I know it will come, and I know somehow it is connected to my enemy. *I know that it is an over-used story line but I tried to spice it up a little. Kinda like how you may always eat a Chicken Masala and then you try a Vindaloo - they're both food and both curries but one is different from the other* There are extra chapters at the end containing side-stories of this book. Everyone in the town knew him; the screw up; the fish bone; the freak. No one knows what he was really like; a side only they knew. He was brave, kind and full of wonder. Hiccup did not eat with the Vikings; nor did he fight on their side and he definitely didn't want to die for them. Hiccup was an unknown outcast; hidden by the masks he would hide himself under. He hid and fled knowing no one could ever find out who he was; what he was. The black wings and scales, the green slit eyes, the tail and ears only a dragon could have; they sawed across the sky in silent grace. In the sky he was free, here he was free. (Fun fact Vikings weren't Homophobic because it was unnatural they only wanted their tribe to survive and so would only care if it didn't give children.) Snowfall on Berk
It's been three years since Drago and his alpha attacked Berk. Astrid and I finally got married last year during a major snowstorm, but hey, we just couldn't wait any longer. Astrid works at the Academy teaching kids about all things on training dragons. My mother helps sick and injured dragons. And Gobber still makes saddles in his shop. I work there if I have time. And what about me? What do I really do? Well I'm the chief. At least I'm trying to be chief. I mean who can beat probably the best chief ever? Besides all that life here is great. A Runaways Resolve, A Dragon Master's Legacy
You have likely seen it all before, Hiccup gets chosen to kill the Monstrous Nightmare but instead of staying to try and prove to his village dragons aren't the monsters they think they are, he leaves. Abandons the world he knows for a world of possibility, a world where he can be him, be free. What if he is one day discovered by a group of dragon riders and chose to join them as they had adventure after adventure. It would be a good life but of course it would never stay so happy, things would change sometimes for the better sometimes for worse. Old scars would surface, old lives reappear and new faces vanish, how would this affect him. Well shall we find out? I don't own the How To Train Your Dragon franchise of course and this is all done for fun. You know the legal stuff. I also don't own the image, I got it off of google as one could expect. For now the story isn't Mature though this may change in the future as I continue so I will make sure to change that if it becomes necessary, just an early warning just in case I break a guideline.
