Hot shot is a five year old boy. He lives with his parents Heatwave and Quickshadow. They were living in a town in Maine. Then they move to Fort Worth Texas when his dad gets a job transfer. Hot shot starts to like his new home a lot. Hot shot is a very active and playful child. He loves to run, jump, climb and play. He is a very kind, caring, smart and brave little boy with a great big heart. Hot shot has been a very healthy boy. But soon after the move Hot shot begins to feel unwell. He has a painful left ankle, he is limping, he has a fever, he is tired, and he has a lump on his ankle. His parents take him to Cook Children's Hospital because Hot shot seems to be getting worse and didn't want to wait till next week with his new pediatrician. The doctors at the hospital do tests to find out why Hot shot is sick. Then Hot shot is diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma a type of bone cancer. Hot shot is brave and ready to fight his cancer head on. Hot shot makes friends with four other children his age with the same type of cancer. They become the best of friends and are going to fight their cancer together.
