Joyce Sison is thrilled by her university's annual gift-giving traditions when her Secret Santa ticks off every single item on her Christmas wish list. Going over and beyond the allotted budget for an inconspicuous Filipina immigrant on campus is completely unexpected, though stranger things have happened. Like her ultimate crush, star athlete Blaise 'The Blaze' Newton, breaking up with his long-time girlfriend Holly Bower over the summer. Or wild child Fallon Troland, Joyce's best friend, pulling a prank on the attention-seeking mean girl Caroline Hall during the cheerleading try-outs, only to make the team. But people like them regularly attract attention: a quality wallflowers like Joyce can do without.

When Blaise, and his ex's boy-next-door brother Don, both ask out Joyce days before the reveal, she concludes her Secret Santa could only be one of the two. Neither confesses to be the culprit, however, when the gifts turn from sweet to sinister. From there, her list of suspects only expands. So does her motley crew of amateur detectives, each dead-set on proving their innocence.

Life, however, is never as easy as it looks. Stakes rise higher when they realize this Secret Santa has plans not just for Joyce, but for the rest of them. Whoever it is hardly appreciates their hard work undermined by the very scapegoats they intend to take the blame.
