Wren is a twenty-year old princess of the small and isolated Flos Avem kingdom in Sikasso, Mali. When an outsider shows up on the day she is to take her rite of passage and requests to come with her, Wren obliges out of curiousity. But who is the girl, and why does she look different from anyone Wren has ever seen?
