One thing that makes it worse for the both of them is Marie's previous relationship with Johnny Lawrence, the head student of the Cobra Kai's. The night of the Halloween dance, however, Daniel's attempt to get revenge on Johnny results in both him and Marie getting jumped. Luckily for both of them, the maintenance man, Mr Miyagi, comes to the rescue with a little help from Marie. With the threat of getting his ass constantly kick, Daniel asks Mr Miyagi for help to learn Karate. And with only a few months before the All Valley Karate Tournament, Daniel could use all the help he can get.
