When Hazel meets Elijah Wells, she tries to convince herself to stay away from him. He's the guy that always seems to ruin her life. As they start to cross each others paths more often than she would like, Hazel notices a sudden change in Elijah's behaviour. It is more than evident that Elijah goes from the arrogant, narcissist to someone who tries to hide himself behind the scenes. This undoubtedly entices Hazel further into the depths to figure out why he completely changed. Until she sees something she knows she shouldn't have, Hazel still remains confused. Wondering why and pondering upon questions she needs answered, Hazel stays consistant in her comforting and tries to persuade Elijah she is there for him. A dark past. Secrets hidden for too long. Will Elijah finally confide in a girl he hardly knows?

She hated the spotlight. He lived in it. She was just the quiet girl with perfect grades. He was power wrapped in charm. Rich beyond belief. An heir to a name powerful enough to open any door and shut any mouth. Nobody knew her secrets, hidden behind glass smiles and a shine so bright. Nobody knew his darkness, worn like a crown. That was bowed before. He didn't shine, he burned. Selena didn't know what she was getting into. It was her sister's friend. It was a harmless crush. A fantasy. A look. But then, he looked back. Now he wants her. To claim. To possess. To destroy and rebuild until there's nothing left of her that isn't his. He'd bleed, hurt -- burn down the world to have her. She wanted to belong. He wanted her to belong to him.
