The case changes Wesley and he becomes more protective of Vo, so much that the two of them start to question if they should adopt the child or let her go into the system. The Fly Team supports Wesley and Cameron's decision, and as they take the time off to settle into their new roles as parents, things become more complicated as the child's birth parents won't sign over their parental rights. The Fly Team digs deeper into the child's history and uncovers the dark side of what happened behind closed doors. Wesley and Cameron don't give up, they fought court battle after battle until they were finally given full custody rights. Back to work took some getting used to, but in the end it all worked out.
