The narrator gets on a plane to visit her father, even though they don't have the best relationship. She ends up sitting next to a friendly girl on 18A, who tells her she's the daughter of the captain and that they had gotten in a fight, but she wants to make up with him. Then she tries to convince the narrator that she should make up with her father too. In this short story, the narrator learns from the girl in 18A a very simple, but important lesson. When the 18-year-old Lani misses her flight with 7 minutes, she gets all stressed and doesn't want to think about how she will arrive late at her dad's wedding. He's going to remarry someone that she doesn't even know yet and she's invited. In the gate, she runs into the 20-year-old English Oliver who is apparently the person that's gonna sit next to her during the next flight to London she will take. As the hours go by, the two get to know each other better which creates a spark between them. But before they could exchange phone numbers, they lose each other in the busy airport of Heathrow. Lani has to hurry to be on time at the wedding, but will she ever see Oliver again? ••• #936 in "airport" #127 in "remarriage"
