(Y/N)'s older brother always filled her head with idealistic stories of what awaited them outside of the walls. He promised her endless fields, large bodies of water, hills taller than buildings. He promised he would help her reach it.

He did not.

(Y/N) filled her younger brother's head with the same tales. She told them there would be a day when they could venture outside the walls and explore to their heart's content. They would not have to fear the Titans. She said they'd find it together.

They did not.

Levi did not make promises he could not keep. He did not speak of the distant future, but simply of tomorrow. Nothing grand, nothing bleak, just tomorrow.

They would reach it together, he swore, or die trying.
