Samantha dreams of getting off the boring island she lives on and sailing all across the world. Since helping her uncle run the town's tavern is all she ever has time for, Sammy begins to lose hope of ever getting off the island and town of Marabelle. That is until a stranger walks in with two friends and she gives them an attitude. When the strange man offers her a job as a captain, Samantha is faced with a difficult choice.

"You know, if you would just back up and let me do my job, we'd probably get there faster!" I snapped. I was so tired of him bossing me around all the time.
"Well if you would have just followed the map the way we planned it, we wouldn't be having this argument!" He screamed in my face.
"Daniel, don't make me punch you. You're "map" plan wasn't even a map, just a stick and some dirt on the ground. And you don't even know the ocean otherwise you wouldn't have had to hire me. So sit down, shut up, and leave me the hell alone!" I didn't give him a chance to respond before I turned around and walked away. All I heard was a faint "What did I get myself into" which caused a smirk to make its way onto my face.

WATTPAD BOOKS EDITION You do magic once, and it sticks to you like glitter glue... When Johnny and his best friend, Alison, pass their summer holidays dabbling in magic, they never expect it to have consequences. Sure, it'd be great if they could banish bullies or change their lives for the better, and what harm could come from lighting a few candles and chanting a few spells? They get their answer in the form of an earthquake unleashed at their behest, which draws the attention of the Marduk Institute, an age-old organization dedicated to fostering the talents of young wizards. Whisked away to the institute and told they can never return to their old lives, Johnny and Alison must quickly adapt to a new world shimmering with monsters, fraternities, and cute boys like Hunter and Blake. But when they're pulled into a dark, supernatural fight that could cost them their lives, they'll have to find strength they never knew they had as they battle for love, acceptance, and their own happy endings -- all with the help of a little bit of magic.
