Hanami Saori has recently turned 20 years old and moved away from the house she grew up in, to avoid memories of her deceased mother. She lives alone besides having the company of her cat, Gloom. Gloom continues visiting their old home where her Aunt lives, and returns looking younger and more alive, as though he's stopped aging. despite Hanami's curiosity pulling her back with him to find out what's happening, she refuses to visit the places filled with the most unbearable memories of her childhood and all the things she misses most. 
Gloom has been gone for almost a month now and Hanami is worried sick. As far as Hanami is aware, he is just visiting their old home where her Aunt must be forcing him to stay longer... 
But when he appears at the most unexpected time with her mother's moonstone necklace hanging from between his teeth, things take quite an unexpected turn and lead to events Hanami would never have dreamed of...
