Love, like life itself, is a fragile thing. It can distract you from the harshness of reality and remind you of it. Sometimes what makes things easier is finding someone to share that with. But... life isn't a freaking fairytale, it's hard and it takes the smallest things to bring us back to that reality. To keep us grounded.

People don't tend to look past the Superman and just see the man underneath. Clark Kent has realized that he has had enough of being put down and used by the women he thought cared for him in the same way he does for them but all he has ever gotten was ridicule, pain, and betrayal. Thinking that he is meant to be truly alone no matter what he does, he begins to give up on finding his happiness Maybe Ma Kent was wrong, there isn't somebody out there for everybody. Or maybe it just takes a different way of seeing life through someone else's eyes to enjoy the little things that entrance us. Then there's Ettie. She has given up on trying to have a fairytale love story, it's unrealistic and a waste of time. Too many people have been hurt waiting for prince charming. Everything is about give and take, her past has taught her that much, stalking her at each chance. She is so tired of putting others before herself, even at the risk of her own safety, but no more. From this point on, she'll only put in as much effort as they do, she'll care as much as they do, no more and no less. This way she can be happy, right?

Join these two on their journey of self-discovery and acceptance as they overcome their fears.

At the Daily Planet, truth is everything - but some truths are unbearable. Elara Vance has built her career capturing honesty through a lens. Her photographs stop time, reveal what others overlook, and turn chaos into beauty. She sees the world clearly - except when it comes to Clark Kent. Clark is warmth in human form - steady, kind, impossibly good. And that's the problem. He's the man who never misses a deadline, never lets a promise break, never stops running when someone else needs him. Especially Lois Lane. To everyone else, they're just colleagues, best friends bound by a lifetime of headlines. But to Elara, it feels like standing in a shadow that will never move. She doesn't resent him. She can't. But loving Clark Kent feels like loving something you're never meant to have - too pure, too unreachable. And every time he leaves without explanation, every time his eyes flick to his phone mid-conversation, Elara feels the quiet ache of being almost enough. Until Clark finds out. When he learns what she's been hiding behind her calm smile - the loneliness, the doubt, the quiet conviction that she'll always come second - it shatters him. Because for all his strength, Clark has one fatal flaw: he's never known how to put himself first. And for the first time in his life, he wants to. He wants her. Determined to prove that his heart belongs only to Elara, Clark begins to fight - not for the world, but for her. Every rescue, every story, every secret he's kept becomes a test of devotion. But loving Elara means learning to be human in a way Superman never has - to be vulnerable, to stay, to choose her even when the world burns for his attention.

WARNING R-RATED Disaster-in-Waiting was a dream come true for me. Firstly writing it and then sharing it on here and receiving such a wonderful response to it. It was because of the support and encouragement on here that I finally took the decision to self-publish as an e-book. It is available on Amazon and can be read for free on there with Kindle Unlimited. ****Mature audience only due to adult themes; sex, language and situations**** Eloise Ross is married to Michael, her much older and recently retired husband. He fills his days with golf and walking the dog, while she fills her days working as a newly appointed P.A. to the CEO of an international company. One night, disillusioned with her sexless marriage she goes out alone, drinks beer and dances with a handsome stranger. The moves on the dance floor quickly lead to passion and excitement like El has never known, but it was only one night, one time. Just that once couldn't mean anything, could it? Just that once changed her view on everything she'd ever thought she'd known or valued; her home, family, husband and marriage, but most of all herself. As her life begins to unravel, with twists and turns that make her laugh, cry and despair El has only one constant to hang onto, her handsome stranger. "Because I don't want to end it. I'm not exactly what you'd call experienced," I said with a warm flush creeping up my cheeks. "I thought everything I had, with Michael was an ideal life until that night, when I met you and something switched inside me, a realisation that it was as far from ideal as anything ever could be. I don't think I'm being clear here, sorry. I am not trying to pin my happiness or the consequences of this on you, God, I don't even call you by your first name so to expect anything of you is not realistic!"
