Life isn't always as simple as we want it to be, and for Stella it has never been nor will it ever be as simple as she'd like it to be.
When Stella was a young girl the werewolf king sent knights to every kingdom to murder all wolves under the age of twelve. No one knew the reasoning behind it, but what they did know is that he killed pups before they were old enough to shift, or so he had thought. After the slaughter the king put a law in affect: no more pups were to be born, and eventually the werewolf as everyone knew it would cease to exist.
