Mental health issues are different and so are their ways of therapy.
Axel Turner hasn't fully come to terms with the death of a friend he saved and lost to suicide. Therapy doesn't work and his life hasn't been the same in three years.
Then he begins writing to help him escape from the demons in him mind. Whether it works or not is up to his demons alone.
Sydney, his protagonist is a reflection of the friend he lost. The friend he wished he could save.
