Isla Oliver now known as 087 has lived at the Compound for ten years. 
Four lessons are taught. Cleanliness, Compassion, Womanly Duties and Presentation of Self. 
Each week the girls at the Compound get graded on the their work over the week. Isla's best friend Regan receives a score of 100% and disappears. Thats what happens when girls get 100%. They go to the Free Land. But when Isla is close to getting a 100% score herself, Regan shows up in the middle of the night to warn her that the Compound isn't what it seems.
