The kingdom Eritrea is an ancient kingdom divided in four regions. It is divided in Kawthar, Anatolia, Nephele and Tellus. There used to be a fifth called Abigor, but ever since this region rebelled they became their own kingdom under leadership of King Chernobog. Eritrea is ruled by an ancient bloodline, recognized by their black blood. There are only a few left. After the killing of her parents, the king and queen of Eritrea, it is Callista's duty to become queen. But besides having to prove herself for being worthy of the kingdom, since she is a female, she also has to deal with the never ending feud with Abigor and the long list of hitmen send to kill her. The book is mostly written from her perspective.
