Alex left at his usual time so that my dad didn't catch him and said he would talk to his dad tonight and come with good news tomorrow. I waved him goodbye looking forward to seeing him tomorrow. Once I couldn't see him anymore I headed back inside my house and up to my room and sat down in my corner waiting for my dad to tell me I could leave my room. I liked sitting in the corner. It made me feel safe no one could sneak up behind me.

The next day I waited for Alex but he didn't show up, I continued waiting, I waited for days, weeks then months but he never showed up again
