Whispers. All that Tareos could hear was the swish of the air, the breathy words, the suspense escalating with every breathey pitch. As the pitches filled the room Tareos found it difficult to breathe and his heart rate began to increase dramatically.
"Firstly..." Devonworth clears his throat,"... the son of Katerina Astrea and Llyr Godwine, Tutankhamun Ahura Astrea." The whispers crescendoed, their previous piano turning into a stern mezzo piano, the melody of voices and questions struggling to sustain themselves.
"Secondly, the daughter of Ju Won Victorina and Celestinus Victorina, Ophelia Ching Shih Victorina" Somehow the whispers crescendoed even more, increasing to a ferocious forte with every voice part harmonizing upon the words 'Big Three', all increasing their pitch up a half step, clashing with each other, suspending, waiting for their resolution.
"And finally..." Tareos takes a deep breath, full of apprehension as the moment he had been waiting for all day was about to arrive. He quickly finishes his sentence.
"And finally the daughter of Honestas Olvidar and Vulcan Fideles, Ozwin Olympia Olvidar." As he speaks he locks eyes with Heremides in the back of the room who was smiling brightly in his direction. The choir did seem to fall out, an intense silence filling the room as the two friends exchange smiles and knowing glances. This song had ended.
	But another one always begins.
Only about two seconds after he finished speaking the choir returned at full force, the next movement of this never-ending major work beginning where the last one left off, the sharp fortissimo invaded his eardrums, all voice parts asking in harmony if these children were as wicked as their parents. The only thing that Tareos could say in response was that he hoped they wouldn't be.
His voice, however, got buried by the sound.

"I imagine him as he is now, a cold echo of himself-a captive god, shackled to the ground he once knew well. For him, and for me, time crawls in the same sluggish circle. I picture the smallness of the space we put him in, and wonder if he remembers like I do." She was always drawn to storms, much like how lightning is drawn to the sky. Even at a young age, little Azura would stand beneath the thunderclouds that often visited the Sky'Lands during their journey across the Crystallin Sea, singing in a dead tongue. The chaotic beauty of the storms gave her solace, a stark contrast to the suffocating control of her makeshift family. Despite what had been promised, Azura couldn't help but feel a certain coldness each time a storm moved on without her. A coldness that only grew stronger and more present with each passing season, leaving her torn between the safety of familiarity and a longing for what lay beyond the open sea. Change had always taken something from her, bringing fear and loss of what had once been familiar. Facing change alone was terrifying, especially from the perspective of a gifted girl who had been isolated all her life. From the moment he was born, Damien's life had never been his own. Orphaned amidst the lower class and considered property of the Crown, it seemed his future had been set in stone, predetermined by those born with silver blood. To work arduously with his head held low and his mouth sealed shut until death would come for him. A death that seemed mockingly out of reach. Scars covered his body, some inflicted by the hands of the upper class, while others he had done to himself, as there was no such thing as a free slave in the Kingdom of Dunstan as long as the Royals lived. --------------------------------------------------- As of 2024, this will be the official place for this story of mine. She was a girl from inside the wardrobe. He was a boy from outside the wardrobe. ~~~~ "You're joking?" I scoff. "These are the Prophecy?" I pointed at the three children standing beside them. It was like an inside joke that wasn't even laughable. "Yes, sweetheart! You cannot deny the coincidence that is happening all around us." Mrs. Beaver explained. Her motherly tone brought me some reassurance. I nodded reluctantly, glancing at the three children standing awkwardly. "So much for a Prophecy." ~~~~ "Is Aslan really your father?" Lucy asked me. I smirked in amusement as she sat down beside me at the river. "Is that what everyone keeps telling you?" Lucy nodded innocently. It was adorable how her cheeks redden in embarrassment. "No," I answered, "he isn't my father by blood but I like to think of him as one." I turn to the flowing river, watching as the tiny fishes jump every now and then out of the water. "He raised me, saved me from dying. I never knew my parents. Don't know if they're looking for me or continuing on with their lives like nothing is missing." I shrugged hoping to fool anyone who thought otherwise. If I put my guard up maybe no one will notice. ~~~~ "A King is never a King without his Queen by his side." A voice said from behind me. I smiled at his attempt of trying to woe me. "Oh?" I didn't need to take a look to know that he was already next to me. His warmth radiated to me like a magnet. "So, why is everyone calling me 'King' when my Queen is out here?" Peter said. I whipped my head over at him, baffled at his confidence. He smirked making me swoon for him even more. Especially, the way the setting sun shinned against his dirty blande hair and his blue eyes glowed even brighter. ~~~~ The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe {P. Pevensie} {The Shadow Series} {Part of Across The Multiverse Series} {Book 1} All of the credit of the books belongs to C.W. Lewis and the movies belong to Disney. I only own Natasha Rebecca Barnes and her plot.

Her family seems to be hiding something, and before she can make sense of it, Iyra is thrust into an arranged marriage with a mysterious werewolf prince-one who knows far more than he lets on. Now enrolled in Amara Academy, a school for the supernatural elite, Iyra must navigate a dangerous world of power, politics, and hidden enemies. War is brewing, and dark forces are closing in. As she unravels the truth behind the prophecy. Iyra faces a choice: confront her destiny and fight for those she loves or risk everything falling apart. *** "We can't be together," I whispered. "No?" he challenged, his hand brushing my waist, a touch so light it made my skin tingle. "Then why haven't you walked away yet?" My hands trembled, and I hated the way my pulse betrayed me, hammering in my chest. "Because I'm not afraid of you," I said, my voice steadier than I felt. He leaned in closer, his lips ghosting over my jaw, his breath warm against my skin. "No, you're not afraid of me," he whispered. "You're afraid of how much you want this." "That's not true," I snapped, shoving him harder this time, creating the space I so desperately needed. He stepped back with infuriating ease, his smile still firmly in place. "Keep lying to yourself, sweetheart". "I'd rather die than accept you as my mate," I shot back, storming past him. He chuckled behind me, his voice smooth and teasing. "Careful, love. You're going to hurt my feelings." I didn't dignify that with a response, but my heart wouldn't stop pounding.
Threads of Fate by LeeraIvy
84 parts Complete Mature
The path fate lays before us is often many years in the making, and the tale of the Phoenix and the God-spawn is no different. Nearly 3,000 years before the war that would bring about Astaroth's defeat, another battle was waged to ensure there would be a future to fight for. Duty has been thrust upon Prince Azael Cadhael for centuries, first by filling the role of an uncrowned King, but his true story begins as all royal stories do: with a ball, a secret, and a peculiar dream. When Azael overhears the whispered plans of his betrothed and her twin brother to leave with the Phoenix on a goddess-given quest, he must surrender to a new type of duty entirely. Navigating his ever increasingly strained relationship with Tissaia Lochren while striving to save the future of his kingdom isn't a job easily done, and her closeness with the Phoenix, Kaius, certainly doesn't make it any easier. Tissaia has spent years in the shadows of her own failure and her father's wrath. Kaius's quest offers her and her brother Talarion a chance to claim their freedom at long last, but fighting ones' past can be just as deadly as fighting an armed foe, especially if that past isn't keen on backing down. If they're going to succeed, all four of them must learn to recognize the power in truth and bared secrets, as well as the strength in kinship. If they fail, it could mean the doom of all Asterria for an age. But if they succeed, perhaps fate will be kinder than they have been led to believe. Warning: This book, while being a work of fiction, still deals with real and mature elements. There will be chapters dealing with abuse, gore, PTSD, torture, sexual content, and other topics. Please be aware if you are sensitive to such content. {The Phoenix Duology} "From the Ashes, I" "Born of Flames, II" {Additional Asterrian Saga Books} "Threads of Fate", prequel "Two Cursed Souls", sequel Completed February 9, 2025 *UNSOLICITED CRITICS MAY BE MUTED* see bio
