After breaking an unlikely ally from prison on a SHIELD mission, Bucky Barnes finds himself on babysitting duty for a mutate with a spotty past and snarky attitude. Both of them have seen their fair share of darkness, but there's an overwhelming light that seems to be drawing them together.

So this is a bit mix-match of canon and decidedly not-canon. Lol
Everything happened up until Civil War, except when it didn't. Two of the biggest changes you will notice is that none of our friends ended up in the Raft, and instead of beating each other senseless after Tony finds out Bucky killed his parents, Tony got a good punch in (on Steve) and told them to sign the Accords. All's well that ends well. Lots of other things are different(hence the pairings) but those are the major ones.
Oh. And JARVIS. I can't write Friday as well as I do JARVIS, so you get JARVIS and Vision at the same time. Lucky you. Lmao.

Bucky Barnes starts to remember his life before he became the Winter Soldier. After the events of Washington, he had wanted to run away and hide. He knew people would come looking for him, especially Hydra and the Avengers. Hidden away in a remote town, on the outskirts of Maine, Bucky tries to live a simple life without drawing attention to himself. Little does he know, he had been followed. ***** Alexandria (Lexi) Adams, was one of the best shadow agents of SHIELD. She was one that Fury trusted with everything, including her judgement. Fury knew that having the Winter Soldier on their side, would be beneficial, not to mention, it would stop Rogers from turning down missions he was needed on. Lexi follows Barnes from a distance, helping to set him up with a home and job, without him knowing it was her. She had moved in to the apartment across from him, playing the friendly neighbour, which was a feat in itself. Lexi was never considered a friendly type of person. It was her mission, to help keep him safe, recover his past, and obtain any Hydra information. She makes sure to bump into him, while shopping for groceries, introducing herself, but she finds he's very closed off and guarded. Can she get through to him, or will he up and run again? When Hydra operatives come crashing through their complex, Lexi must make the choice, to stand and fight, or run. Will the two work together?
