Annalise lives in a world with 3 types of people Axles, Aces, and Nexts. She is a Next. Right in the middle. A hard worker with a medium life. She live in reasonable house not as poor as the Axle's but definitely not as rich as the Aces. The aces get to live for exactly 150 years each never looking more than 80. They do nothing but exist and yet they still get to live longer than the Axles. Who only ever see the world for 40 years working hard as slaves and servants in the lowest possible jobs and yet they get less than a third amount of life as the ace's do. Her life is like so many otheres: nothing more than a life. Only Ryan, her lover, still makes her happy. But soon she will figure out what happenes when you become more than a Axle, Ace, or Next. No powerul. Hunted, because she is the only thing that can stop them. The only person who knows the truth.
