Dante Wiles is an Orphan, He lost his parents to the plague of 2020. He fought in the Race wars of 2021 and was a member of the resistance against the current lord of the Americas. At 18 he has seen and felt more loss than one person could handle in a lifetime. After a failed suicide attempt Dante meets an old enemy. Then suddenly he is thrust back into the world of the resistance where he is chosen to go on a suicide mission to take down the new government and take revenge for the people he has lost. He becomes part of a team of like-minded and similarly damaged freedom fighters dead set on the destruction of the empire. He will experience pain and love on a scale never felt before.

Although demons can't love, what he feels for Ariel seems a lot like love. In this angel/demon romance, God is a woman and all the characters in Heaven and Hell love whoever they want.
