Mirja Eilífsdóttir is a young heroine-in-training. She attends the prestigious Wayward School Of Elites, a school for the youth training for their hero career. However, in this world magic and powers are real. Your everyday people have powers and even the local celebrities. You might even get to see a stray dragon or pegasus flying about the city and being chased by the local police.
She attends this school with her classmates who are also in their last year of school. Then the Twilight Contagion starts to spread to hero's, but oddly enough there is a strategic pattern to who is infected. It causes some hero's powers to go haywire, the person to go insane, lose their powers, or in the worst case; death by hysteria. It's up to Mirja and her friends to find out the origin of this contagion and put an end to it. However, everything isn't as it seems.
Enter a world of fantastical hexes, mystery, intrigue with a dash of romance, and oh my...is that an actual unicorn?
