In this particular story, George works at a coffee shop while also maintaining being an undercover detective working on the 'Smile Murderer' case with his partner; Nick.
Clay, an everyday regular, catches George's attention. George sees him as a possible suspect for a moment, but it's replaced by the charm Clay has.
However, Clay begins to act strangely as more of the murders happen. George, being the detective he is, notices this easily.
Nick does as well.
