A cataclysmic 7.3 Earthquake has rocked California to its core, leaving thousands homeless, injured, missing, or dead. Connor Franta is a 22 year old rescue worker tasked with the job of saving people from the rubble and getting them to the hospital in time. Troye Sivan is an aspiring musician, visiting Los Angeles to stay with a friend he had met over the internet and work on his budding music career when the unthinkable happens. How will they cope with the lives the earthquakes leave them with and how do their stories intertwine?

Troye and Connor are both highschool seniors, they live next to each other and their parents are good friends. This is why they are forced to go on a camping trip together, and of course they get to share a tent. Troye, however, can't come to a lot of activities because he has really bad migraine. Connor sees this as a perfect opportunity to skip hiking with his family so he stays back to take care of Troye. Both boys start to acknowledge that they really aren't as different as they thought and they start to enjoy each other's company, more than they would have initially wanted.
