Hiding Behind Smiles
❝She loved poetry, he was a poem. A poem Hiding Behind Smiles.❞ ~•~•~ Ridhhant Gupta is known to be the best friend of one of those rude CEOs, with his jovial jokes and smiles he hides something, or someone, so much of a void and pain inside him. Until his Mom sets up a personal assistant aka 'YouthSitter' that's what she calls it, for Ridhhant. How far will the two souls here go on the journey of smiles and sorrows? ~•~•~•~ "These scars and bruises are very different, because they are so Close to who I am." I murmured caressing his skin. "They are a part of me and everytime I love too deeply or care too much, they re-bruise and reopen." I finished and gave a gentle kiss on his forehead. "They wouldn't re-bruise." I said into his ears. "I..I don't know..what to say," his low whisper echoed in the silent room and I smiled. "Then don't. None of us are the same. Every mind different, Every body different, Every soul different. but funny isn't it, that yet here we are, Agreeing. Feeling. Knowing. Understanding. Just what those lines mean, written by a single person. because we've all been through it, haven't we? -------------------------------------------------------------- A/N:: I wrote this book when I was a teen going through a series of bad changes, loneliness, depression and anxiety...it was a very cynical time for me really. A misfit trying to find where she fits in this world, realising her value and worth and learning the concept of self love and more. Sooo...it's cringy but it gets better. Not really. I've been writing this anthology for more than a year and a half and each piece on the project is special to me. is very each I've poured out each string of my veins in these pieces and this is the project in which I've been the most reulnerable till now. Each piece in this project is a direct reflection of how I saw the world when I was 17 and 18. This project according to me has my best written work up till now and a few of my favorites are, 'Matilda's Bleeding', and 'Passenger Side'. "Where There Is Love, There Is Pain" "Can love happen twice with the same person?" Letting go of someone you love is never easy, and the scars left behind can be deep. .....................🩵 she asked, "What's special today?" "Our 4-year anniversary," I said, my voice gentle, as if saying it aloud would remind her of the love we shared. Oh, I forgot," she muttered, Will you be my girlfriend again, my moon? Will you marry me and make me the happiest man alive? I want to spend my life with you, to have children, to grow old together. Will you be my wife?" Silence. Her tears fell freely now, but they weren't tears of happiness. Her face was pale, her body trembling. I stood up, panic rising in my chest. "What's wrong?" "I don't want to be your lover anymore. I'm scared of becoming your wife. I don't want to bring a child into a world where they'll suffer.
