A boy born to a fishing family in Berk loses his parents in a dragon raid. While fishing out in the open seas, he hooks a scauldron who he injures by throwing a spear at it. Eventually, he finds it and begins to heal it, contrary to what he felt for dragons when they killed his parents as he doesn't have the heart to kill it. They form a bond and he names it Sea Strike. Following Hiccup through his journey, their bond grows even stronger.

Y/N overtime met new dragons and studied them for days upon days and slowly knew how to train all dragons of any class. He doesn't really have the greatest life on land, he was fired from his job, he needed money to pay rent for his apartment, he didn't have many friends, and things just didn't work out for him anymore. As he gets up to leave from the dock, he falls into the ocean, but then he's saved by some mystery person and when he finds out it was a merman who saved him, he becomes great friends with him and finds out that his name is Eridan. But then, Eridan's father disapproves of their friendship and does something horrible. Sollux then finds Eridan with tons of cuts and bruises all over him, on the beach and helps him out. He does all of this while keeping him secret from everyone else except for his best friend, Karkat. After some time, he realizes that he can't stay on land if he wants to keep Eridan safe. Sollux will have to choose whether to stay on land and look for a different way to help him, or to become a merman himself and live in the water for the rest of his life.
