Naru Uzumaki is a well known Demon throughout the shinobi world, she's number one in the bingo book, a SSS-Ranked ninja, with a flee on sight order. when the Uzumaki clan forsakes her from the village and the clan, for being a demon, she goes to the hidden leaf to become a ninja and find a mate.

Shikamaru Nara's clan was slaughtered by Orochimaru, A demon named Matsu Ito took him in. Even though Shikamaru isn't a demon he has demon like instincts. So when he met Naru at the academy he knew she was his mate.
