Scarlett is 25 years old. She was trained to be an assassin.  After four years of doing to correctly she ended up shot. She almost lost her life. When she pulled through she knew she was done. She needed something time consuming and dangerous. 

Ameer is 27 years old. And the king. After some upsetting accuracies he needs more protection. When he did some research he found out Scarlett is the best. He wanted a guy. It wasn't a secret he was hot he didn't wanna have to reject anyone.

"I don't bow," I snap at the women. "Very well then," he says. He opens his desk grabbing some papers. "Leave us," he tells them. He hands me the papers. 

I read the first letter. "It's not normal for kings to get death threats," I mutter to myself.

He soon learns of her secret and for the first time in his life, he is unable to follow through with his job as a Constable. That reality hits him hard. He is in love with a Downer and he wants nothing more then to keep her safe.
