Almost 40% of the world gained powers like that of a superhero, almost thirty years later I'm born and without any abilities. Me, my mom, and my little sister live in a little rural town until one day I save my sister from falling from a tree. My abilities activate and I'm taken to a hospital where I'm arrested for illegal power use and sentenced to 6 months on a juvenile island where all minors with Power are sent. If I'm lucky I can get out early and finish the last 2 years of high school at Belmont, one of the most prestigious Hero schools. That's if my villainous father stops meddling in my life.

Emerson Rogers liked to think of himself as an ordinary teenager. After all, he had no reason to believe otherwise. He went to an upstanding private school with the rest of his friends, was a straight-A student, had no disciplinary issues, and was well-liked according to his classmates and teachers. And that he and this mysterious villain have a stronger connection than he originally thought.

Long ago a group of superheroes and villains worked together to prevent an invasion. But they managed to kill more people than they saved. Their destruction caused the perception of those with powers to dramatically shift; to the point of outcast. 50 years later crime has increased to the point where not even the police respond to calls.
