Hal Cruz thought that the Luines were just folktales, as well as their neverending conflict with the moon hungry Bakunawa. Until one day, she saw that story meld into her reality, starting with a murder at a church and a wand. Now, it's up to her to look for the Luines, beings of the moon, to stop Bakunawa again.

TIME SERIES #01 (UNDER REVISION) In the aftermath of a heartbreak that left my spirit shattered, I found myself wandering through the debris of shattered dreams, convinced that love was a distant mirage. Just when the echoes of heartache threatened to drown me, a compelling force emerged-a figure whose presence would redefine my perception of love and resilience. This transformative individual, whose arrival seemed almost serendipitous, became the harbinger of hope in the midst of my emotional wreckage. They navigated the labyrinth of my broken heart with an innate ability to mend the fragments, unveiling the prospect that, against all odds, a personal and profound happy ending was within reach. As their influence seeped into the tapestry of my life, I discovered a reservoir of strength I never knew existed. Together, we embarked on a journey of self-discovery, where the scars of the past became a testament to resilience rather than a harbinger of despair. Through shared moments of vulnerability and understanding, this enigmatic presence became the catalyst for a narrative of renewal and redemption. The unfolding story navigates the complexities of healing and rebuilding, as I grapple with the remnants of my previous heartbreak. The emotional landscape transforms, revealing that love, far from being an elusive dream, can emerge from the ashes of pain stronger and more authentic than ever before. In the embrace of this newfound connection, the possibility of a personal happy ending takes shape-an ending not defined by conventional norms, but one that resonates with the authenticity of genuine emotions and profound growth. The story becomes a testament to the enduring power of love, demonstrating that even in the aftermath of devastation, the heart can find its way back to a place of warmth and fulfillment. *** Photo credits to their rightful owners and is used for entertainment purposes only. Babaylan by babaylanmd
7 parts Ongoing
Tala is a 21-year-old first year medical student at the University of the Philippines Philippine General Hospital. Unbeknownst to most, she hails from generations of babaylans, Filipino shamans tasked with appeasing, harnessing, or communicating with spirits of the dead and of nature. While groomed to practice the ancient traditions of her forebears, she must also make her way into the world while protecting her family's legacy, both financially and socially. Though her sheltered youth makes her naive and inexperienced, she is eager to explore. Narciso is a 28-year-old pathology resident trying to juggle work and a family secret that has only barely evaded escape. He is the youngest in a family of aswangs, ordinary humans by day, monstrous shapeshifters by night, able to hide their true nature through stealth, as well as wealth accumulated through generations of assimilation with society through a booming family-owned sugar conglomerate. Narciso is torn between the vagaries of his origins, unwanted family obligations, and his medical vocation. Tala and Narciso eventually meet at the Philippine General Hospital. Narciso has become weary of the world and Tala's enthusiasm, compassion, and innervating conversations are like a breath of fresh air. Despite having different backgrounds and values, the two are inexplicably drawn to each other. Tala quickly discovers that Narciso is far more complex than she initially assumed. As their unlikely friendship grows deeper, Tala begins to understand how fear and ignorance can cause people to be unforgiving, judge others harshly, and make careless, life-altering decisions. Along with this newfound understanding comes a greater appreciation for her own heritage.
