Ok a little backstory if you were confused Marcus is a demon but he is from a different time period. So basically i didn't write a chapter about how you meet him but i will tell you here, So basically you time traveled into a different world where you met him and he remembered his old contract with your parents since they sent you to the modern world for safety.
