Open Novella contest 2021

For seventeen-year-old Toby, it's hard enough being a teenager. But then the world went and ended, and he got turned into a member of the undead community. Now his life consists of chasing his dinner down the road and hiding from gun toting maniacs who are determined to blow his head off.

So he starts writing it all down on a notepad he found in the pocket of his unfortunate friend Moe. A way to process this new life he is now leading. 

Then one day he crosses paths with someone he used to know from school, she's a zombie too, just like Toby and she's in trouble. He soon finds himself on a mission, a mission to save her. Along the way he runs into Charlie and Meg. They want to help him save his friend, but they soon discover far more sinister things going on.

Hopefully, he can manage to stay alive (well, kind of alive) and save zombiekind.All Rights Reserved

Many characters from ONE including favorites such as Liam, Bryce, and Amelia fight to survive in a competition created by Airy, a competition that contains no food, a competition that forces them to commit to the lifestyle of something they never wanted to be. Also perma-death after a certain point. perma-death means that they can still use the radio but airy cannot respawn anybody. To explain how each batch gets hungry: Batch 3 does not need to eat, batch 2 needs to eat only once every- like- 3 months, batch 1 needs to eat like a human does. FORMATION OF THE IDEA: I was talking about ONE to someone when I realized, do they have to eat in ONE? There are scenes where Liam is eating breakfast and Charlotte is cutting carrots but it's never said if they NEED to eat. They're seen on the plane without any food for over seven months. So I got the brilliant idea to make them get hungry and likely have some characters resort to other sources of food! Her brother doesn't often get along with her due to her lack of presence. Samy is a careless teen girl who has been dealing with some un-controlling problems of hers lately. Because of this, it has led to her loved ones distrusting her and being distant. Samy doesn't know how she can fix this problem of hers, or even herself. During the event, something unimaginably horrifying occurs. All of a sudden, she witnesses people getting eaten and torn apart by 'sick' deranged people. The entire school campus is turned to bloodshed. A switch goes off in her head when she sees the chaos unfold, there is only one thought that enters her mind. And that is to protect her little brother Zane no matter what....
