lilac blossoms & ocean air - a short story

a fictional tale of a young girl entering a forced marriage, who's heart belongs to another. based in the early 1900's, 17 year old amara falls for dorthea, who lives in a cabin by the sea near amara's mansion. there, dorthea lives a life of tending to her lilacs, swimming in the sea and caring for wild animals. amara feels obligated preceding her father's death to provide fortune to her mother through marriage to an older man, but will her undeniable love for dorthea rid her of this lifelong commitment? will she bid her beloved dorthea goodbye, or bid her arranged fiancé goodbye?
