Cyra is a young women who 18 years ago washed up on the shores of a small island and was taken in by a loving family. Yet as she grew she developed different abilities, first to be able to read peoples true emotions and then to be able to influence them. But living in a land that is still reeling from a war between humans and the Fae races, this leaves her utterly alone. She leaves her home and travels to the capital where people who are different are not yet truly accepted but are atleast tolerated. Now in a new home she finally has the opportunity to discover where she came from and who her people are.
