boruto after defeating momoshiki and gains karma after a week sees that people he thought he could have trusted looked down on him for cheating in the chunin exams even the villagers talk behind his back he just choose to ignore but one day it got too far and left the village to gain power and to come back in the next chunin exams to show everyone what fear is.

The 4 other kage soon found out about BoruShiki and ordered the execution of Boruto, Gaara was the only one that disagreed with that, soon enough information was leaked to the whole village and everyone started despising Boruto except for his friends and family.
