Kyoko Ai has lived on the streets for as long as she can remember, moving from place to place without having an idea of where she was going. However, despite this she has never once been envious of those around her, instead being naïvely content with what she has. Although, when things go awry she finds herself backed into a corner and with nowhere to go: she hides.

Never did she think that Karasuno's Volleyball team would change her life, that they would very well become her family. And that for once in her life, she would be as privileged as other teenagers her age.
