Samantha Cook is 36 years old, unemployed, and fresh from a year long in-patient treatment at a psychiatric clinic. Stripped of all independence and monitored 24-7 "for her own safety" by her widowed mother and an overbearing doctor, Sam resigns herself to a life without autonomy and free will, until her mother presents her with an irresistible chance - spend the summer cleaning out her late great aunt's crumbling 200 year old estate in the small beach town of Bright Bay. If she can prove herself responsible enough, she just might be granted the freedom she desperately longs for. Alone in a house that seems intent on sabotaging her at every turn, Sam begins to wonder - is the way she sees the world a weakness like she's been told, or is it just possibly her greatest strength?

Aislin Striker is a sixteen-year-old who just wants to be a normal teenager, but that's hard to achieve considering she keeps seeing ghosts. Since birth there had always been something abnormal about Aislin, and this went beyond her dysfunctional family and the constant attacks of her older sister, Avalon. But that's nothing a little therapy can't fix, right? Things seem to be improving until Aislin loses her best friend, Chanel, and then her paranormal experiences start happening all over again. Just like when she was a kid, only this time results in her starting a fire during class and getting expelled. Even worse, she is forced to go to Starkhouse-a reformed school for disturbed and rebellious teens. Starkhouse seems like an unfair punishment, especially with the way Toby keeps picking on her, but she does her best to pretend to be ordinary and stay out of trouble. But despite Aislin's attempts to lay low, her curiosity gets the best of her when students start disappearing at Starkhouse. There's even rumors that a poltergeist is haunting the institution and some of the other residents seem to be manifesting strange behavior. Maybe it's just a coincidence? Or maybe Starkhouse isn't what it seems....Complete
Michael's Ghost Girl
This story is not getting the attention it deserves, so I am attempting to "re-brand" it. Maybe no one "gets" it. If you want to read about "Normal" teenagers, maybe this isn't for you, it's more complicated than that. It's about a teenager who doesn't fit it, but doesn't want to, who has the best two friends that anyone could have. Who watched his father lose his job in the Recession and then loses his home, and how he copes, especially when he learns that their new house is haunted and the ghost is in his room. Michael was an average kid, although he's always stood out. He was a school jock but also a skater whose long blond hair almost reaches his waist. When his parents lived in a house in a home owners association like all his other friends, life seemed normal. Then his father lost his job and suddenly those "friends" weren't there anymore--except for his two best friends, Short Round and Dewey. The three are skaters, good ones, who live for girls and their skateboards. They're also basically good kids who take pride in being different without paying attention to it. When Michael loses his home and his family has to move they have his back. And they are there for him when the ghost girl starts following him around. Mariah was murdered when she was just 15, her remains were never found, although no one but her and her ghost friend, Crazy Girl, know where their bodies are buried. The house Michael now lives in is the one where she lived with her family, and her old room is now his. She appears to him one night, trying to taunt him, but against her will she is falling in love with the boy who lives in her old room. Slowly the two begin to fall in love and Mariah tells him her story, and of the hidden danger that lies up the street from him. A dangerous strangers loves to kill little girls, and his sister KitComplete
